First Seed Ceremonial Weekend
For Young Men, Ages 11-15 - Aug. 20-22, 2010
What is it?
This is a Ceremonial weekend open to Young Men, ages 11-15. The weekend will offer the First Seed Rites of Passage Purification Lodge and Medicine Naming Ceremony. These are the first two ceremonies in a series of Rites of Passage Ceremonies within the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path that mark and celebrate the journey and passage from childhood into adulthood for Young Men.
What do I need to know?
This ceremony is open to young men ages 11-15.
Parent(s) and/or guardian(s) are encouraged to attend with their young man. Please discuss these arrangements with the registrar.
Registration closes on July 20, 2010.

| Cost | There is no cost for ceremony. Fee to cover materials, supplies, teaching fees, and land use fee is $180.00 (this covers the cost of one young man and one parent/guardian), an extra $25.00 fee will be added for each additional parent/guardian |
| Medicine Gift | Within the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path, it is traditional to give the Dance Chief a medicine gift to honor their energy extended on your behalf, and tobacco which symbolizes the sealing of one’s intent and commitment to Spirit. For this weekend you are asked to bring 4 medicine gifts (1 for each Dance Chief, 2 for the Fire Crew) and tobacco. |
