Elemental Finger Connection

The teachings of the Human Flowering Tree and Luminous Egg Cocoon remind us that humanity is far more than the pain and struggles of its history. By learning the developmental and evolutionary stages of being human, we uncover a deeper understanding of our potential to transform and mature. These teachings challenge us to embrace both light and shadow, turning past experiences into fertile ground for growth. Through the Luminous Egg Cocoon, we can raise our Orende, reclaim our harmony, and step into the beauty of who we are meant to be.

Touch is experienced with our whole body and works with the element of earth. Included in this section are the Elemental Finger Connections, because the hands play an important part in the sensation of touch. Thunderstrikes says that humans’ touch and dexterity, which should easily be at level 10 given our ability to grasp, is rated at a 6-8.

The human being has two sets of elemental connections. (See Figure 6.) Notice from the picture there are two left hands. That means both the elemental finger connections come through the left hand, the receiving hand for the body.

The hand nearer the top of the diagram shows our tonal connection to the elements, and the hand nearer the bottom shows the nagual connection to the elements. In the palm of the tonal hand is a zero, which represents the void or creation of life. In the palm of the nagual hand are two zeros or an infinity loop, which represents the immortality of life. All of the elemental finger connections are connected to the meridian lines in the body. Through them flows the chi, ki, or Chuluaqui energy affecting all aspects of our being.

The little finger of the nagual hand is water and goes from the “as above” onto the “so below” little finger of the tonal hand: earth. This creates life (water combined with the earth to create plants). It gives you the seasons of life.

The second nagual finger, or “ring” finger, earth, comes into the second tonal finger, water. It is the natural rhythms of the planets and our body’s biorhythms, governed by the moon.

The middle finger of the nagual hand is wind and goes into the middle tonal finger which is fire. This is our mind going into our spirit, where self-growth and development occurs. Therefore, it is our maturation, knowledge, and aging.

The fourth nagual finger, or index finger, is fire, and goes into the fourth tonal finger, wind. Our spirit (fire) renews itself through the sacred mind (wind.) Therefore, it represents our reincarnation and rebirth cycles.

The nagual thumb, void, goes into the tonal thumb, wood, to create immortality, longevity, “the eternal.” What this means is from one seed comes a tree with a thousand apples: one to the many and the many to the one. Every apple that falls can become a new tree. Wood also means the tree—the human tree. From one seed comes the many; the many go back to the one. Thus immortality!

The use of hand ties works directly with these meridians. By doing them, you cross the meridians like wires to increase the senses.
