The Shadow Dream, Spirit & Mirror Dream Eyes
The teachings of the Human Flowering Tree and Luminous Egg Cocoon remind us that humanity is far more than the pain and struggles of its history. By learning the developmental and evolutionary stages of being human, we uncover a deeper understanding of our potential to transform and mature. These teachings challenge us to embrace both light and shadow, turning past experiences into fertile ground for growth. Through the Luminous Egg Cocoon, we can raise our Orende, reclaim our harmony, and step into the beauty of who we are meant to be.
As we’ve seen in the last blog, the Psychic Eye opens pathways to spirit, while the Heart Eye and Animal Eye guide us through intuition and instinct. These eyes help us navigate our waking world, but what about the dream world? Let’s journey into the Shadow Dream Eye to uncover its mysteries.
The fifth eye, called the Shadow Dream Eye, is located in what would be the soft spot on the head of a newborn baby. It is and allows you to see in the dream. It sees 360 degrees around, and in color. When you are asleep and dreaming, your Shadow Dream Eye is open, allowing you to see in the dream world. As you are dreaming, your physical eyes 1 and 2 are closed and yet your eyes have rapid eye movement. How can they be seeing if your eyelids are closed?
No matter which of the eight other eyes are functioning, the two physical eyes will move. The two physical eyes work in coordination with all the other eyes.
Now let’s make a jump to enable us to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of this eye. This is a new way of working with the knowledge and numbers. We will combine the numbers and what we know about them from all we have learned so far. The Shadow Dream Eye is the 5th eye. Since the physical eyes 1 and 2 are always involved when any of the other eyes are functioning, this totals to an 8 (1+2+5=8).
Later in Course of Study 3 you will learn that the physical body is the 8th Chakra. This means that we store all of our patterns in the physical body. The number 8 also represents pattern (see the Warrior’s Attributes Wheel in Module #2). So, the Shadow Dream Eye sees images and patterns. Psychologists who do dream interpretation through symbols are trying to understand the pattern of your symbols through the dream. It is your 5th eye that sees into the 5th dimension, into the dream, to gain memory. It is called the Shadow because it sees everything as if it were a film negative. The two physical eyes see things as the printed copy of the film.
It is important for us to look at our shadow side. Many people are afraid of it; therefore, the Shadow Dream Eye closes. When we go to sleep at night, we have shadow dreams or nightmares instead of dreams of power. This blocks our ability to work with teachers in the dream.
The sixth eye is located in the palm of your left hand. It is called the Spirit Eye. This eye sees the spirit or function of anything it touches, so it is also called the hand of the heart.
Let’s look at the difference between the spirit and the soul. These two terms have a tendency to cause confusion. We will use the analogy of a tape recorder as an example. The engineers (God, Great Spirit, etc.) who designed the tape recorder did so with a specific task in mind. They put together many parts to create one thing to function in a certain way. The function is the spirit of the tape recorder, its give-away. The soul is the energy source. If we disconnect the tape recorder from its energy source (unplug it or remove its batteries), its soul is cut off. The Spirit Eye can see the function, or spirit, of anything it touches.
The seventh eye is located in the palm of your right hand. It is called the Mirror Dream Eye. This eye sees the dream, symbol, or process of what it touches. It is also called the hand of the mind. This is why a Warrior shakes hands with his right hand. This is a signal of no war, and on a deeper level it connects the two dream eyes. Therefore, each person shaking hands can see the mind and intent of the other. In the native world, there is a particular type of healing known as shaker medicine. The Mirror Dream Eye is very strong in these healers. This kind of healer can look into your eyes, and by using their right hand to shake your hand, tell you every minute detail of your entire life. They can also use shaking hands as a diagnostic tool.
Dreams reveal patterns and connections, but our physical body also holds profound insights. In the next post, we’ll explore the Aura, Karma Eye, and Soul Vine Eye, discovering how they connect us to energy, karma, and the universe itself.
