Dreaming: The Gateway Between Worlds

Exploring how dreams bridge imagination and reality, offering insights, healing, and guidance for awakening to who we truly are.

e all know the importance of a good sleep. The body gets a chance to rejuvenate and regenerate. It’s a healing, a reset and refresh, preparing us for the next chapter of our lives. A chapter that begins anew each morning as we rise and face the day.

What else is happening during sleep? We are entering universes of the known and the unknown, getting glimpses of the mystery of our self…

I have been fascinated by dreaming since I was a child and I realized early on that I could change my dreams. The DeerTracks editor was aware of my special interest in dreaming and asked me to write an article.

Unexpectedly, the inspiration to write this article came whilst transitioning out of a dream. By keeping my intent, while moving into and out of dreamtime I accessed realms of imagination and power, just what was needed for inspiration.

I stayed with one attention inside of the dreams I had had during the night, and one attention in an awake space. This gave me access to a different kind of creativity and thought space and at the same time I was able to record it. I went back and forth between the two spaces harvesting illuminations. Early in the morning, I just had to get up and write the article.

However, I wasn’t sure if what I had recorded whilst half asleep, would make sense to anyone else but me. Just as our dreams may be entirely clear, very interesting and exciting to ourselves, someone listening to a recounting of our dream may not make sense of it and not find it interesting at all.

Dreams don’t appear out of nothing. They are connected to our life experience and support us in our everyday life. They offer an opportunity to speed up our evolution, at least if we are listening and follow through with the message we receive from them.

To facilitate a deeper understanding of the messages contained within dreams we can ask ourselves questions, for example:

What is this dream trying to tell me?
How come I dream it now?
Can I relate it to an experience I recently had or one I anticipate coming?
What is the source of this dream?
How can I let the messages from my dreams guide me to where to put my focus in my everyday world?
What do I need to take care of?

Dreams go far beyond our imagination – they give access to the unlimited resources that exist within us. Dreaming could be likened to an internal AI, but much better, it is our unique, individual Autonomous Intelligence that is custom designed to each of us; where we are in our life and the experiences we bring with us, placed within the collective consciousness of what’s going on in the world.

The chaos of images and stories within our dreams are all intimately connected to who we are and can offer valuable insights into what is going on inside our unconscious mind.

If we pay attention, we can utilize our dreams to become more productive, creative and shine our genius into the world, even more.  Dreams will show us what is happening on the collective levels of consciousness in the world.

Circle of the Serpent Wise—a new Gold Lodge program blending teaching, ceremony, and community.

We will dive into the Matriarchal and Patriarchal teachings, exploring the delicate dance of our inner masculine and feminine energies. We will seek a deeper understanding of the anima and animus within us, guiding our maturation process.

Just as dreams are unlimited, it seems like the number of schools of thought that are teaching about dreamtime are unlimited as well. There are many techniques to improve our dreaming and become aware of our dreams. Too many to mention in this short article, but I will name a few, simple ways you can consciously use dreaming to improve and enrich your life.

For instance, working with dream journals; recapping a dream when you wake up before moving your body position, tracking the feeling when you wake up and follow it backwards into the dreams you have had, or sharing your dreams with others, for instance, in dream groups.

As you do these techniques, gradually, you may experience that your awake life is shifting as well. You become more aware, present and pay attention to details within your life that are echoes from your dreams. You may even experience, as if you have turned from a black and white world to a world in color, where life feels richer and you feel more vibrantly alive.

Dreams open the door to who you really are and reveal it to you. They take you beyond the masks you carry in your everyday life into the spirit of the creational being you are. They mirror you clearly, unfiltered and without excuses, sometimes whispering, sometimes shouting. We access our potential when we listen to the hidden messages, enigmas and statements of the obvious that are delivered to us within our dreaming. Dreams open our imagination which leads to the limitless power we were born with and have carried since always. We are much more than we think we are.

Your dreams can tell you how well your life is aligned with your inner guidance. Do you hold your boundaries when they are being challenged in a dream? If you do, it is more likely that you will hold them in your everyday awake life. Your actions show your character, in awake life as well as in dreamtime.

Timelines may be distorted in dreams because time doesn’t apply in the normal way we are used to in our awake life. When you dream you enter a space that is beyond time where anything can happen, independent of chronological order. This opens up numerous possibilities.

There is much more to be said about dreaming than what can be covered in an article such as this, but I hope this prompts your curiosity – You are the explorer of your dreams and they are waiting for you. What are you waiting for?

Go on a hunt. Track them down. Explore the origin of your dreams and you may find the pot of gold at the base of the rainbow. Create a life of relaxation, focus, inspiration and living in mini-max. Dream your dream awake.
