Training for the Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage are ceremonies and rituals that not only celebrate the individual and honor their growth, but also provide the essential context and energetic “boost” from one phase of life to the next. To be able to offer those rites in our circles and lodges will be an important and strong support to built a healthy community.

Ceremonies for children in their first nine years directly contribute to solidifying the family. They reinforce the family’s structure and the child’s sense of self in relation to her relations. The rites of passage and related teachings provide the family with a body of knowledge that brings a focused maturation into the family. Understanding the inter-reliability of the family structure and each member’s maturation creates a greater grounding in the family experience.
