Summer: A Journey into the Mirror

Part of the Journeys Into the Mirror collection of reflections by Janneke Koole—born from a lifetime of spiritual practice, personal healing, and a deep connection to nature. Inspired by her mother’s way of seeing beauty in the everyday, Janneke invites us to look at the outer seasons as mirrors for our inner lives. Each piece offers a story, image, or guided practice to help you reconnect with your senses, your spirit, and your own truth as a woman.

You are invited to journey into the mirror of Summer

Engage, reflect, journal, and find your own connection to Summer.

It does not matter what time of the year it is—these reflections take you into yourself as a season. It does not matter what stage you are in your life, each season has an invitation for you.

You are invited to journey into the mirror of self-reflection to deepen your self-acceptance and encourage your self-expression.

Woman is like Summer
All dressed up in a vibrant expression of life at its peak
Hotly passionate, her seduction is irresistible
An all-consuming expansion

Within the embrace of this woman
One is consumed and forever transformed
What is of ill burned down to ashes
What is of good altered forever

Summer is fun
Life is good
To be woman in the sun
Is good fun

Pick a day when the sun is full, bright and just hot enough.
Find a space where you can safely sit or lie in the sun—be fully naked if you dare.
Allow the sun to touch every part of your body. Feel its heat.
Notice how it does not hold back any of its light.
It gives it ALL to you.

Now go to a mirror, take in all of who you are in this moment.
Celebrate yourself.

Get dressed up to express the full delight of being alive as a woman—
in the sun, having fun, nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of,
just being fully who you are.
Walk through your home in this delight, or go where you will and enjoy!

You may wish to journal:

I am Summer. I am….
