EXTERNAL IMAGE MAKERS

Part of our Tyrants blog series.

There are six external image makers; They are the people we chose to put in our Book of Life for this lifetime. They include our parents, our teachers and people of influence. They guide the sculpting process which results in our ability to fit in, belong and conform to society for the sake of survival. Once the moldingsculpting and armoring is complete, it becomes our contrived core personality and the box we hide in. This also conceals our true nature and is the foundation of our lower self.

The manner by which we move through life and conform to seek acceptance by others is called the mask of self-pity. Through the use of this mask, we armor ourselves to numb the pain of not knowing our true nature and to mask our core self from others.

The mask of self-pity is the process of repeating the same patterns over and over; it is our closed symbol and dark mirror dance, which creates our mirror of self-reflection. The mirror of self-reflection is who we think we are, complete with tremendous limitations and boundaries. It is not our natural self.

Out of this our needy child is created. This needy child needs acceptance, approval, recognition and security from the image makers. Instead of being awake and seeing the mask of self-pity for what it is, we become the mask: we lose energy, our body vibrates more slowly, we lose our health, old age and disease set in and we eventually die without having ever glimpsed who we really are.

The routine patterns of reaction and automatic playing of pain tapes literally make us into biological robots, walking asleep. We become walkers rather than dancers in life. Our overall level of health stays low and our bodies become susceptible to disease and ill health. We have no true hope of happiness. We become the mask of self-pity, the needy child conforming to whatever and whomever the image makers define as acceptable.

Seeing through this mask is essential to uncover your true nature which is formless and enlightened. In order to do this, you must first crack the mirror of self-reflection, who you think you are, and eventually shatter it. When the mirror cracks, you will begin to understand what the core self is and how you have been sculpted and armored. This will give you a conscious glimpse of the self-deception of your mask of self-pity. When the mirror shatters, perception does a somersault by turning around and seeing its true self- the inner Buddha or inner Christ.
