The Star Maidens Circle: The North
In the North is Philosophies and Belief Systems. In short, this is the meaning and purpose we give to life. Our philosophies, belief systems, opinions, and points of view are how we make sense out of it all. They are the mental framework that we create about ourselves, life, and others. They are a more generalized view about the world and how things work than are mythologies, which tend to be more personal. Philosophies and beliefs are our mind’s attempt to validate our myths and set up a system that supports them. When we are in the dark philosophies and beliefs, we are determining from rigid opinions and frames of reference. I call it tunnel vision or walking around with blinders on. It creates great inflexibility within the mind.
Examples of a dark philosophy are: “Children are to be seen and not heard” or “A man’s place is to be the bread winner for the family.”
On the light side, philosophies and beliefs allow for open minded receiving from many different viewing points. It’s like standing in the center of a circle and being able to take in information from 360 degrees around you. This empowers us and promotes our free learning and growth. An example of a light philosophy is: “People deserve the freedom to become what they choose to become in life.”
The Producer of our movie sits in the North. This is the one who makes the production possible. Awareness of the meaning and purpose of our current movie drama is essential to the success of a producer’s job.
The Warrior’s Attributes in the North are Intent and Coordination. Intent is a determination to act in a certain way. We must be very careful when judging someone’s intent. What we call intent for people is many times their motivation of action. The only way we can know a person’s intent is to see the action through the eyes of the Great Spirit. Only the Great Spirit can see the total picture. Coordination is the ability to receive multiple viewing points and be able to work them together harmoniously. Without knowing your intent, you won’t know what you need to coordinate.
